Guardian Art Center, together with the Home Product Design Department of City Design School in Central Academy of Fine Arts cooperates to launch this “My University” featured exhibition, including the works of teachers and students.
The introduction for Home Product Design Department of City Design School in Central Academy of Fine Arts:
To present our interpretation towards city, life and art from the perspective of product design. Begin with the basic points like traditional artifacts, industrialization and trends, we look for the cultural context in traditional artifacts and creation way, and the transformation and rebirth of tradition in the current context, as well as explain the relationship between artistry and design with a open perspective and thinking; we try to combine the regional culture and material with the industrialized precise creation way, and solve the international homogenization and environmental problem resulted from standardized mass production through modern technology. In the meantime, the dematerialization trend brought by new material, new technology and new information technology has tremendous impact on human psychology and living space, from which we can see, with the people-oriented premise, the infinite value generated by technology towards the future design trends.
