“Architecture Meets Photography” Dialogue and Exhibition of Photographic Works

At 15:00 on September 9, Guardian Art Center invites Lin Tong, professor of photography at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Sun Haiting, a renowned architectural photographer, and Hu Jiawen, deputy director of the Three Shadows Xiamen Photography Art Centre, to share their views on the topic of “Architecture Meets Photography” in order to connect the audience interested in architecture and photography and to promote cross-disciplinary exchanges and cooperation. The three guests will share the aesthetics of architectural photography in terms of light expression, urban environment, and artistic innovation. They will also share their views about the exhibition of Zaha Hadid Architects “The New World” and share with the audience their thoughts and inspirations about the city and its environment.


Guest Introduction


林彤 Lin Tong

Lin Tong, Doctor of Design Theory and Design Education Research, is the convener of the photography major of the School of Design of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and associate professor of CAFA. He has organized interdisciplinary teaching, constructed research-based courses on image art ecological interdisciplinary subjects, and hosted many high-level teaching lectures by experts and scholars. He focuses on the systematization of teaching and theoretical support, strengthens the introduction of digital virtual image teaching, and tries experimental teaching. He has outstanding academic performance in the field of architecture-image literature research.


孙海霆 Sun Haiting

Sun Haiting is an architect who specializes in design and cultural heritage protection. Born in 1984 in Xi’an, he now lives in Beijing. As an architect, Sun Haiting specializes in architectural design and cultural heritage protection-related engineering design work. As a photographer, he focuses on the man-earth relationship and the human settlement. His works are based on a calm and non-transient perspective, which gazes at daily lives and shows their poetic, transcendental, and even extraordinary nature, to explore the boundary between daily life and spectacle.


胡嘉雯 Hu Jiawen

Hu Jiawen is the deputy director of the Three Shadows Xiamen Photography Art Centre.
