Discover Qing Dynasty Thangka Paintings with the Experts of the Palace Museum

On March 6th, the Guardian Art Center is proud to host Luo Wenhua, a research fellow from the Court Department of the Palace Museum, who will provide a comprehensive introduction to Qing Dynasty court thangka paintings from multiple perspectives including system, technique, and style. The Palace Museum currently houses over two thousand thangka paintings, most of which were created during the Qianlong period. Detailed records of these works are preserved in the Qing court archives, a documentation phenomenon unparalleled in the entire Tibetan Buddhist cultural region, which is of great significance for understanding the value and status of Tibetan Buddhist thangka paintings in the Qing court.
